Anchorage Concert Association Brings World-class Performers to Alaska

Possessing more than three decades of experience in neurosurgery, Dr. Kim B. Wright practices at Laser Precision Spine Surgery in Anchorage, Alaska. Actively involved in the local community, Kim B. Wright, MD, supports many causes and activities, including the Anchorage Concert Association. A nonprofit organization founded in 1950, the Anchorage Concert Association aims to bring world-class artists to perform in the city.

Initially focused on classical music, the Anchorage Concert Association has expanded to bring talented practitioners from across the artistic spectrum to Anchorage. Since its inception, the organization has coordinated more than 700 music, dance, and theater performances. The association has a small team that handles the full-spectrum of activities from selecting artists to producing and marketing events.

Beginning in the 1990s, the organization helped to bring performances of acclaimed Broadway productions to Alaska. Over the years, the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts in Anchorage has been home to performances of mainstay shows, such as Phantom of the Opera, Rent, Mama Mia, Les Miserables, and many others.
